Arts North West is thrilled to announce that talented local artists Jodie Herden and Tyler Stackman have been selected to attend the National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF) 2025 in Sydney.
This prestigious opportunity will see Jodie and Tyler mentored by Amy Allerton and Kate Briggs, two esteemed artists from Arts North West, as they take part in this vibrant and ethical marketplace. The National Indigenous Art Fair provides a rare opportunity to purchase artwork directly from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists representing community-owned art centres across the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Western Australia.
Held at The Rocks, Sydney, the NIAF 2025 marketplace will take place on:
Saturday 4 - Sunday 5 July 2025
10am - 5pm (Saturday), 10am - 4pm (Sunday)
In addition to showcasing and selling their work, Jodie and Tyler will engage in professional and creative development sessions to enhance their artistic skills, business knowledge, and networking within the national arts sector.
The program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program, which plays a vital role in empowering Indigenous artists and strengthening cultural traditions through economic opportunities.
“We are incredibly proud of Jodie and Tyler for this achievement. Their selection highlights the extraordinary Indigenous artistic talent within our region, and we can’t wait to see them shine at NIAF 2025,” said Miranda Heckenberg, Executive Officer, Arts North West.
“This milestone reflects Arts North West’s ongoing commitment to fostering Indigenous talent and ensuring regional artists have access to national platforms that celebrate culture, creativity, and storytelling.” Arts North West’s Aboriginal Arts Officer, Robbie Hartigan added.
