Arts North West strongly encourages the development of innovative projects that contribute to the rich arts and cultural landscape of our region and we look extremely forward to seeing these projects being delivered in 2016.
CASP provides small grants to arts and community organisations and local arts councils for short term, locally initiated arts projects with the program aiming to assist locally determined cultural activities. The Country Arts Support Program of Regional Arts NSW is funded by the NSW Government through Arts NSW.
Narrabri Art and Craft Society
Discover Your Inner Artist- mosaic workshop
Reinvigorate cultural and artistic opportunities in Narrabri through the development of a series of workshops. Given its broad accessibility, we will commence with a mosaicing workshop delivered by Doug Weir for 20 local people on 23-24 April 2016 and a follow up workshop on 24-25 September 2016.
New England Bach Festival
Baroque Bar
Three late night free informal performances of baroque music in a local bar as an add on to the 8th New England Bach Festival (5-8 May 2016). Performances will allow visiting musicians, local professionals and students to play together and will increase potential audience for the Festival.
New England Medieval Arts Society
Medieval Music workshops and Performance by Medieval music group PRAXIS
New England Medieval Arts Society will be holding their biannual Easter medieval Gathering event between 26-28 March 2016, as part of the weekend there will be two medieval music workshops by renowned medieval performance group PRAXIS. Medieval music skills and instrumentation will be explained followed by hands on demonstration and participation by creation of a bone flute. These workshops will be followed by a medieval music performance by PRAXIS.
New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM)
Print Beyond Text- artist in residence project
NERAM will host a one week residency at the Museum of Printing by letterpress artist Caren Florance in February 2016 which will include the presentation of a workshop on letterpress in partnership with the New England Writers Centre; a free illustrated talk on international letterpress activities and printing museums; and a professional development activity for NERAM staff and volunteers.

Aboriginal Cultural Showcase - Traditional Dance
Offer a series of 5 grants to dance groups or artists to showcase Traditional Aboriginal dance as an addition to & in support of the successful Aboriginal Cultural Showcase at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2016.
Wallaby Art Group
Inclusive Creativity
Professional training for young and emerging artists in regional NSW by providing a series of workshops throughout 2016.
Applications for CASP 2017 have not been confirmed, but if they proceed they will usually close beginning of October 2016.
