Regional Futures Program

What do you think the future of the New England North West will look like, or more importantly, what would you like it to look like?

How can you, as an artist, share that vision through creativity?

Arts North West is pleased to be able to provide our regional artists working in every genre, a chance to represent our region in a 2-year transformative statewide project, managed by the NSW Regional Arts Network and funded by Create NSW, with built-in professional development.

We would like to invite artists, either individually or as a collaborative group. to submit an Expression of Interest to represent our region for the Regional Futures project.

In the first year, you will develop your project. In year two, you will share your project in the Western Sydney Artist Exchange through presentation and exhibition.

Your project might be one of an individual artist, expressing your vision of our region’s future through visual art, photography, dance, music, film, puppetry, a dramatic piece, written work, or mixed media. Several artists working in various genres may also come together and collaborate to create a single project.

In addition, as you consider the future of our region, we invite artists to reach out to our environmental officers, researchers and scientists, our regional parks and reserves, form conversations with our Aboriginal Lands Councils, Elders groups, energy providers, our Local Land Services, CWAs, our businesses, farmer groups, and our schools, to better inform the direction and breadth of your project concept.

This is an inclusive project, and Arts North West encourage EOIs from our First Nations resident artists, artist with disability, and emerging artists in all disciplines.

How can you tell the story of our future through your imagination and creativity, which will be shared to better inform our state, and our country, who we are, and what the landscape of our future looks like from where we live?

We would love to know!

Applications close 28 March 2022.
