Are you a writer but can never find the words?
Do you have the words but don't know where to take them?
Do you want to tell a story or your share your thoughts in a short story, novel, essay or children’s book format?
Arts North West and Outback Arts supported by 2 Rivers Pty Ltd and Blackbooks will be holding a monthly writer's group for aspiring First Nations writers in the region.
What is it and what will be achieved
• Network with other First Nations writers and aspiring writers
• Develop writing and written story skills
• Gain an understanding of the publishing industry
• Support each other by sharing experiences and knowledge
• Opportunity to seek and provide peer feedback
• Learn about recourses and opportunities you can tap into
How and when
• A series of monthly 1 hour zoom meetings with content that is co-designed with participants, this can be shaped however
the participants want, it could simply be a downtime for you to write.
• Over the course of six months (starting January 2022)
Outcomes
• Help First Nations writers' developed their work ready to pitch to publishers
• Provide information about the resources available to writers
• Opportunity to attend an on country residency in 2022
