The Panorama Project

The Panorama Project was a collective arts activity from Arts North West, engaging hundreds of people across the New England North West of NSW from the places they call home.
It started with a small, personal sketchbook, delivered to each participant, and ended as a travelling exhibition of all the sketchbooks, transformed
by the breadth of imagination, talent, and voices of this vast region.

The project was open to participants aged 16 and up, and began when participants receive a sketchbook by post or distribution. They kept it to fill with their creativity and expression over the autumn and early winter seasons. After 1 August 2020 (or once lockdown had been lifted), each participant dropped their sketchbook off to a central location
in each community. These little books then travelled together to local libraries across the New England North West for several months as
The Panorama Project exhibition for people to see the artwork and vision before all books are returned to their owners.

This project gave a rare opportunity for a wide audience to understand the perspectives of people in New England North West through imagery, colour and media,
while capturing a moment in time, and served as a kind of visual historical document of this challenging time.

TOUR LOCATIONS

Approximate Panorama Project Tour dates are below, with some give and take at the
beginning and end of each location to provide time for staff to pack and unpack the exhibition.
