Arts North West Announces Recipients of Quick Response Micro Grants

Arts North West is thrilled to announce the recipients of our Quick Response Micro Grants for 2023. This funding program is designed to boost the arts and cultural landscape of our region. These flexible microgrants aim to support local independent professional artists, community groups, and arts organisations by providing them with up to $1,000 to make their creative ideas a reality.

The Arts North West Microgrant recipients for 2023 exemplify the diversity and talent within our region, with each submitting a unique and inspiring project that will contribute and benefit to the communities. This year 22 Quick Response Micro Grants have been awarded to individuals, groups, and community organisations with over $20,000 worth of funds distributed across the New England North West.

Arts North West Executive Director Lauren Mackley chatted with ABC New England North West Saturday Breakfast’s Kevin Rigby. Topic of conversation: Fiesta La Peel!

Lauren spoke about ANW’s Pavement Performances that were held in Tamworth and Manilla as a homage to the Greek cafes that were once a significant part of the local community. She also provided an overview of the lineup of the Fiesta La Peel event that took place on Saturday, 21 October 2023 - including the many food stalls, world music and dance performances!

On Saturday, 23 September Arts North West attended Tamworth Pride’s 3rd Annual Fair Day in Bicentennial Park, Tamworth. The Arts North West team created a rainbow yarn installation as part of The Yarn Bombing Project on the day; it was a great opportunity to share the project with Tamworth!

ARTS NORTH WEST ANNOUNCES CASP FUNDING RECIPIENTS FOR 2023

Arts North West is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the 2023 Country Arts Support Program (CASP) funding. The Country Arts Support Program (CASP) is an annual small grants program funded by Create NSW and managed by Regional Arts Development Organisations. These funds are granted to arts community groups, arts organisations and in the New England North West to support creative endeavours. Arts North West is thrilled to present the following individuals and organisations as the recipients of the CASP funding for 2023:

• Joanne Stead, for her project 'The Mannequin Project'

• Dorothea Mackellar Memorial Society Inc, for their initiative 'Writing for Children Workshops'

• Hester Fraser (Goldheist) through Kingswood Collective Productions Pty Ltd, for the project 'The House of Jazz Collective'

• Arts Gunnedah Inc, for their workshop 'Advanced Art & Ceramics Workshops'

• Manilla Community Choir for their undertaking 'Manilla Community Choir - Performance Development for Local Community Events' with Isis Ashton

• Black Gully Printmakers, for their initiative 'Letterpress Printing Skills #2'

Arts North West would like to congratulate the successful applicants and their respective communities and LGAs who will benefit from the outcomes of the CASP Grants. ARTS NORTH WEST ANNOUNCES CASP FUNDING RECIPIENTS FOR 2023

ARTS NORTH WEST RECEIVES $110,000 SUPPORT TO RENEW AND ACTIVATE

On Tuesday, July 11, it was announced that Arts North West received a $110,000 State Government Grant to renew and activate precincts around the Northern Tablelands. This grant is designed to help engage audiences and aid communities in post-Covid recovery.

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall met with ANW’s Executive Director Lauren Mackley to discuss the art initiatives that are happening around the region. Arts North West will experiment with indoor and outdoor spaces as venues and explore how to best re-engage audiences in the post-pandemic recovery period.

This funding is planned to be used for a series of regional CBD activations, mapping venues and public art spaces, and providing professional and creative development programs over the next year. This engagement is something that all LGAs serviced by Arts North West will benefit from.
