The Region

Welcome to the New England North West region of New South Wales, gateway to some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery in Australia. Modern regional centres sit alongside the Victorian, Colonial and Art Deco architecture of our many vibrant smaller communities, and our World Heritage and rainforest wilderness areas, flat dry plains and dramatic ranges provide a wonderful variety of filming backdrops.

Located midway between Sydney and Brisbane, there are frequent daily air services from Sydney to Armidale and Tamworth, with other daily services to Moree, Narrabri and Inverell. Many other centres have airports which cater for smaller charter or privately owned aircraft. Helicopters and executive jets also operate from Armidale Airport and are available for hire.

We can link you to the services offered by our 12 film-friendly local Councils to help you create a successful production on time and on budget. Whether you’re shooting a feature film or television commercial, our goal is to make your production a smooth and rewarding experience. We’re here to help.

Federal and State Government Financial Incentives

The New South Wales State Government offers financial incentives for qualifying Australian film productions, and the Australian Federal Government has a range of attractive tax concessions available for qualifying international feature film productions through Screen NSW.
